Google might have just made parenting a lot easier with the introduction of Family Link
We all know that mobile devices have totally changed the way we gain access to information on daily basis due to internet access. As a parent, you would be concerned about the amount of sensitive information your children get exposed to when they handle mobile phones. You wonder what the your kid is up to, whether he/she is focused in school or engrossed by the daily get-away to be on social media. It is widely known that majority of parents do not trust their kids with phones all by themselves, even Bill Gates has this to say about children and technology;

With the family link app from Google, you can stay in the loop as your children explores on their Android devices. Family Link lets you create a Google Account for your Kid that’s like your account, while also helping you set certain digital rules and control that works for your family.
Google’s Family Link App allows you to manage the apps your children can use on their devices, keeping an eye on the screen time, and setting a bedtime on your child’s device.
What you need to know about using the Family Link App for your Family
Family Link is available by invitation only to parents of kids under 13 years old. To get started, you’ll need:
- To create a Google Account for your kid through Family Link.
- A compatible Android device for your kid*.
- Your own Android device.
- Your own Google Account.
- To be in the U.S.*
- Request Invite.
For now Google’s Family Link is only available for use in the United States. Be rest assured that it is coming to your region. It is a big step in enforcing parental control on the use of internet and mobile devices for kids under 13 years old.
